LeBron James leads Lakers to another Clutch Win
LeBron James added another historic marker to his career as the Los Angeles Lakers secured their third straight win.
LeBron is now first all time in NBA scoring and second all time in assists, making him the only player in league history to rank top two in one category and top ten in the other. No other player has finished inside the top ten in both points and assists.
The win also kept the Lakers perfect in close games. They are now 13–0 in clutch games this season, the second longest such streak to start a season since play by play tracking began in 1997–98. The only team with a longer opening run was the Golden State Warriors in 2015–16, who started 14–0.
While LeBron anchored the result, the night also featured outstanding performances from Luka Dončić, who recorded 30 points and 10 assists, and Trey Murphy III, who scored a career-high 42 points with five rebounds. Once again, the Lakers closed out a tight game with LeBron leading the way.
