LeBron James Makes NBA History with 42,000 Career Points

LeBron James has become the first player in NBA history to score 42,000 career points, reaching the milestone during the Los Angeles Lakers’ game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday night.

The Lakers star, who is now 40 years old, hit the record in the first quarter, scoring eight points, grabbing one rebound, providing three assists, and making one steal in his first 13 minutes on the court.

The Lakers celebrated his achievement with a post on social media, saying:

“42,000 regular-season points & counting.”

LeBron Still Among NBA’s Best

Despite his age, James remains one of the league’s top players. He started the night averaging 24.5 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 8.5 assists per game, shooting 51.2% from the field and 37.3% from three-point range in 62 games this season.

The Lakers have had a strong season, holding a 44-29 record and sitting fourth in the Western Conference, just two games behind the Denver Nuggets in third place.

James also made headlines in the first quarter by dunking on and taking a charge from the Grizzlies’ 7-foot-4 rookie, Zach Edey, showing his enduring dominance on the court.

Up next, the Lakers will face the Houston Rockets on Monday night in Los Angeles as they continue their push for a higher playoff seed.
