LeBron triple-double inspires Cavs, Raptors continue good form

The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Sacramento Kings 120-100 thanks to star man LeBron James in NBA action on Monday.

James had 21 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds for his 40th career triple-double but first of the season.

Remarkably, the four-time league MVP did not play in the final quarter.

Kyrie Irving led the way with a game-high 32 points, while J.R. Smith contributed 22 points.

Rudy Gay and Omri Casspi had 16 points apiece for the Kings.

The Toronto Raptors continued their good form courtesy of a 103-89 win over the Detroit Pistons.

Kyle Lowry netted 25 points as the Raptors made it 14 wins in 15 games.

Ersan Ilyasova was the pick of the Pistons players with 17 points.

Nikola Vucevic was at it again as the Orlando Magic trumped the Atlanta Hawks 117-110 in overtime.

For the second time in the space of two days, Vucevic led the Magic past the Hawks, this time scoring 28 points as Orlando overturned a 20-point deficit in Atlanta.

There were also overtime victories for the Los Angeles Clippers and the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Clippers outlasted the Philadelphia 76ers 98-92, while the Trail Blazers prevailed 112-106 at the Memphis Grizzlies.

In other results, the Charlotte Hornets were 108-91 winners over the Chicago Bulls, who were missing Derrick Rose, Jimmy Butler and Nikola Mirotic.

The Indiana Pacers edged the Los Angeles Lakers 89-87, the Brooklyn Nets upstaged the Denver Nuggets 105-104, the New Orleans Pelicans saw off the Minnesota Timberwolves 116-102 and the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Phoenix Suns 122-106.
