Aston Villa have officially completed the signing of German midfielder Leon Goretzka as a free agent.
The deal was completed with Goretzka’s agency ROOF last week, with the midfielder reportedly wanted by Aston Villa manager Unai Emery.
Goretzka arrives at Villa Park with extensive experience at the highest level, having spent years competing in top European competitions. His physical presence, passing ability and experience could provide an important boost to Villa’s midfield.
The move also highlights Emery’s continued efforts to strengthen his squad with experienced players capable of making an immediate impact.
Goretzka will now begin a new chapter in England as Aston Villa look to build a competitive squad for the new season.
