Libya withdraw from African Nations Championship Qualifiers
The 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers are about to start, but several countries have already pulled out of the competition.
Egypt and DR Congo were the first to announce their withdrawal, and on Thursday, Libya also confirmed they would not be taking part.
Libya, a former CHAN champion, did not give any reason for their decision to withdraw. With this announcement, the number of countries pulling out continues to grow, raising questions about the competition’s participation and excitement levels.
The qualifiers are set to proceed with the remaining teams, but Libya’s absence is a significant loss, considering their past success in the tournament.
Recently, Libya has been involved in negative stories of fan violence and poor treatment of visiting national teams.
