Ligue 1: Balogun Leads Reims Past Monaco

Folarin Balogun continued his impressive form for Reims with the only goal in the 1-0 win over Monaco in a Ligue 1 encounter on Sunday.

Balogun netted the only goal of the encounter in the 51st minute to take his tally to 16 in the Ligue 1 this season.

And at aged 21 years and 252 days, Balogun became the youngest player to reach 16 goals in his first season in Ligue 1 since Mohammed Salem with Sedan-Torcy in the 1960/61 campaign.

The win is Reims fourth win in their last five games.

Balogun has enjoyed a prolific season in the Ligue 1 since joining on loan from Arsenal in the summer.

He has been linked with a move to Newcastle United following his stunning performances for Reims.

Reims currently occupy eighth position on the log with 43 points.

Balogun is eligible to play for Nigeria having represented England at the youth level.
