Lobi Stars coach Ogebide slumps and dies
Lobi Stars coach Solomon Ogbeide slumped and later died today in Makurdi, officials have disclosed.
Lobi Stars spokesman Mark Agbo Igboche said the coach had complained of being unwell earlier today.
Ogbeide led Lobi Stars to feature in the group stage of this year’s CAF Champions League.
The club are in strong contention to feature in the NPFL championship playoffs as they are second in Group A with 31 points from 20 matches.
There are two rounds of matches till the end of the regular season.
Ogbeide, who is the secretary of the Nigeria Coaches Association, is one of Nigeria’s most experienced coaches having worked at various top clubs including Julius Berger, Bendel Insurance, Sunshine Stars and Akwa United.
