Lorenzo: I haven´t spoken to Rossi

Jorge Lorenzo says he has not spoken to Yamaha team-mate Valentino Rossi since clinching the 2015 MotoGP championship last month.

Rossi led the championship standings for the majority of the season, but a fourth-place finish in the last race of the season and a win for Lorenzo saw the Spaniard seal the title by five points.

It was always going to be a difficult task for Rossi, however, after a penalty from the previous race in Malaysia meant he was forced to start the final race from last on the grid.

Lorenzo said he had not spoken to Rossi since the season finished but just wants to focus on 2016 now.

“I have not spoken to Rossi yet, we haven’t had the opportunity, but we will in the future,” Lorenzo said.

“Rossi and I have gave our respective opinions and it’s time to turn the page.

“It’s time to think about next season and create a good atmosphere in the team for 2016.”

Lorenzo, 28, thinks the same riders will challenge for the title next season, but also tipped Suzuki to improve substantially.

“MotoGP now is very difficult, because there are a lot of riders fighting for the win, while [Casey] Stoner used to be another,” he said.

“This year the favourites to triumph will be the same as last season, with the riders with the most talent and experience to be there again, but probably Suzuki as well.

“The electronics are not as sophisticated as they were before, and Suzuki knows it well. They did well in Valencia and they’ll have an advantage.”
