Luka Dončić Explodes for 42 Points as Lakers Run Past Miami Heat

Luka Dončić gave the Miami Heat another reminder of just how difficult he is to stop, pouring in 42 points as the Los Angeles Lakers cruised to a 138-117 victory on Monday night.

Dončić was in complete control, combining his scoring ability with excellent playmaking to finish with seven rebounds and 13 assists. He also recorded two steals and knocked down six three-pointers in a performance that had a little bit of everything.

There was a historic achievement behind his impressive numbers, too. According to the NBA, this was the 19th game of Dončić’s career in which he recorded at least 40 points, 10 assists and five three-pointers, the most in league history.

Austin Reaves was another major contributor for Los Angeles, finishing with 27 points, five assists and four three-pointers. Walker Kessler also made his presence felt with 15 points and 15 rebounds.

Miami simply had no answer for the Lakers’ offensive firepower. The Heat managed 117 points, but that was nowhere near enough to keep pace with a Los Angeles side that finished with a comfortable 21-point victory.

The result takes the Lakers to 6-2, and with Dončić already producing performances like this, opponents have plenty to worry about.
