Luka Dončić Makes NBA History as Lakers Edge Raptors in High-Scoring Thriller
Luka Dončić produced another extraordinary performance on Sunday, leading the Los Angeles Lakers to a 131-125 victory over the Toronto Raptors while writing his name into NBA history.
The Slovenian superstar finished with 45 points, 15 rebounds, six assists, five steals and eight three-pointers in a remarkable all-round display. His performance helped the Lakers overcome Toronto in an entertaining contest at home.
Beyond the impressive numbers, Dončić achieved something nobody had previously accomplished in NBA history. According to the NBA, he became the first player to record at least 15 rebounds, five assists, five steals and five three-pointers in a single game.
It was a complete performance from the Lakers guard, who influenced the contest at both ends of the floor. His scoring kept Los Angeles ahead offensively, while his defensive contributions and rebounding made life difficult for the Raptors.
Austin Reaves also played his part, finishing with 19 points as the Lakers secured an important six-point victory.
Dončić continues to demonstrate why he is regarded as one of the NBA’s most dangerous offensive players. However, his latest performance showed that his influence goes well beyond putting points on the scoreboard.
