Maduka Okoye gets first Watford Fc mention in 1-1 draw Vs Birmingham

Nigerian Goalkeeper Maduka Okoye finally got his first mention in the Matchday squad at Watford Fc as they held Birmingham City to a 1-1 draw at St Andrews .

 

Okoye was named on the bench for the Hornets who battled to a 1-1 draw vs Birmingham City to maintain their unbeaten start to the English Championship season .

Prior to the Birmingham game , Okoye was not listed for the first three games with 34 year old Ben Hamer deputizing for first choice goalkepeer Dan Bachmann .

 

Birmingham City took the lead at St Andrews stadium in the 19th minute before K. Serma equalized for Watford Fc in the 63rd minute to secure a second away point of the season for Rob Edwards men.

Manaj had a foot to K. Serma’s shot for the Watford Fc equalizer and claimed the goal with his Celebration .

Like Okoye, Super Eagles Vice Captain Williams Troost-Ekong was also an unused substitute in the game for Watford Fc who currently sit third on the standings with 8 points from 4 matches .

 

Watford Fc will be guests at Deepdale to Preston North on Saturday August 20 on Matchday five .

 

Maduka Okoye may have to wait further for his Watford Fc debut as Manager Rob Edwards is not considering a change of hands in the Hornets goal as they continue their fairly impressive start to championship season .

 

Okoye , Rob Edwards had announced before the start of the season , will deputize for Danish goalkepeer Bachmann who has the managers blessing as number one with a return of 2 clean sheets from four games.
