Maikaba: Akwa Utd will push for a win away at Hawks of Gambia in the CAFCC
Technical Adviser of Akwa United fc of Uyo, Abdul Maikaba has said his team will push for a win over the Hawks of Gambia in the second leg of their CAF Confederations Cup game in Gambia.
Akwa United lost the first leg, 2-1 in Uyo and are on the brink of elimination in their debut season in CAF Club Competitions.
“We will push hard for a win, we rested some of our key players against MFM FC for the Hawks of Gambia game and I believe we can turn the tie around.” Maikaba told sportsration.com after his team lose to MFM in Agege on Friday.
While speaking on the loss to MFM FC, Maikaba said “I am happy with my boys performance, it was a good display, we paid for our profligacy in the first half”
Akwa Utd still top the NPFL log with 16pts from 8 games, just one ahead of defending champions, Plateau Utd.
