Maikaba points out the cause of Plateau United home loss to Kada City

Plateau United headcoach, Abdu Maikaba has explained the reason for his side’s shock 1-0 home loss to newcomers, Kada City in their NPFL league game on Wednesday.

Sadiq Suleiman’s 81st minute strike ensured Kada City win their first ever top-flight away game and the maximum points against the 2017 Nigeria Professional Football League champions.

Reacting to the news after watching his side go down against the newcomers in his first game in charge since he returned from his assignment with the Flying Eagles, Maikaba blamed the defeat on “pressure”.

“Psychologically we were under pressure which was responsible for our catalogue of missed chances,” Maikaba was quoted by the LMC media.

The pressure may have just started for Abdu Maikaba who was part of the technical crew that oversaw arguble the worst Flying Eagles ever after their show of shame at the just concluded AFCON U-20 tourney in Niger.

He has to find the ‘magic wound’ that gave him the reputation as one of the best coaches in Nigeria after working wonders with Akwa United in the past years.

As it stands, Plateau United are in the drop zone with 11 points from 10 games played in group B.
