Malouda Tips Osimhen for Premier League Switch

Former Chelsea FC winger Florent Malouda believes Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen is ready to take the next big step in his career by moving to the Premier League.
Osimhen has continued to attract attention ahead of the summer transfer window following his impressive performances for Galatasaray S.K.. The Super Eagles forward has been linked with several top clubs across Europe, including Arsenal FC, Chelsea FC, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF.
The 27-year-old joined Galatasaray in 2024 before the Turkish champions later completed a permanent transfer worth €75 million. Despite signing a long-term contract until 2029, reports suggest Osimhen could still leave the club this summer.
Osimhen has enjoyed an excellent spell in Turkey, scoring 57 goals in 73 appearances in all competitions. He has also impressed in the UEFA Champions League, where he scored seven goals this season to help Galatasaray reach the Round of 16 for the first time since the 2013/14 campaign.
Speaking about the Nigerian striker’s future, Malouda said Osimhen has the qualities needed to succeed in English football.
“Victor Osimhen can perform in the Premier League,” Malouda said.
“When you look at his mentality, character and passion for football, I think he belongs in the Premier League.”
The former France international added that the Premier League would complete Osimhen’s football journey after successful spells in Italy, France and Turkey.
Malouda also believes clubs like Chelsea and Liverpool FC would suit the striker better than Manchester United FC.
“I think his next step is the Premier League and the Champions League, where he can play for a team capable of winning trophies,” he added.
“He is energetic, a leader and the kind of player fans would love.”
Osimhen was strongly linked with Chelsea last year during his time at SSC Napoli, but the transfer did not happen. The Nigerian forward also turned down a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia before moving to Galatasaray.
Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain F.C. are also reportedly monitoring the striker alongside other European giants ahead of the new season.
For now, Osimhen remains focused on helping Galatasaray win another Turkish Super Lig title as they prepare to face Antalyaspor this weekend.
