Man City drop points against Crystal Palace

Manchester City were held to a 2-2 draw by Crystal Palace, which hurt their chances of getting back into the title race. City went into the match feeling confident after their 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest earlier in the week.

However, they couldn’t build on that performance and ended up sharing the points with Palace.

Erling Haaland, who had struggled to score in recent weeks, finally ended his goal drought by scoring in the game.

Crystal Palace made one change from their win over Ipswich, bringing in Jefferson Lerma for Abdoulaye Doucoure.

Pep Guardiola made four changes to his Manchester City lineup.

Palace shocked the champions early, scoring just four minutes into the match. Will Hughes passed the ball to Jean-Philippe Mateta, who then set up Daniel Munoz to score with a well-placed shot past Stefan Ortega.

City responded before halftime when Haaland scored a header from a great cross, leveling the game at 1-1.

In the second half, Palace took the lead again with a corner kick from Hughes. Maxence Lacroix rose to head the ball past the goalkeeper.

City equalized soon after with a smart pass from Bernardo Silva to Rico Lewis, who finished the chance beautifully.

But City’s hopes of winning were hurt when Lewis was sent off with a red card, and they were forced to settle for a draw.
