Man United Eye Wilfred Ndidi as Casemiro’s Long-Term Replacement

Manchester United are reportedly looking to sign Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi this summer as a replacement for veteran star Casemiro.

With United aiming to refresh their midfield without breaking the bank, Ndidi has emerged as a smart and affordable option. The 28-year-old, currently with Leicester City, is available for just £8 million due to a release clause in his contract—triggered after Leicester’s relegation to the Championship.

Ndidi, known for his strength, tackling, and ability to win back possession, has a similar playing style to Casemiro, who turned 33 this year. While the Brazilian was a key figure late last season under new boss Ruben Amorim, concerns about his age, physical form, and high wages have prompted United to plan for the future.

According to reports from Spain, United have been monitoring Ndidi for some time and are now seriously considering him as Casemiro’s successor. Although no formal offer has been made yet, the club are said to be keen on sealing the deal quickly.

Meanwhile, Casemiro is reportedly not ready to leave. He is determined to stay at Old Trafford, hoping to make Brazil’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.

With Ndidi’s price tag low and his Premier League experience proven, many fans see him as a smart choice for United’s rebuilding project—especially in a summer where spending will be tight.
