Manchester City lift Premier League title after win over Chelsea

Manchester City lifted the 2022/2023 English Premier League title at the Etihad Stadium after a 1-0 win over Chelsea FC on Sunday evening.

City were confirmed champions on Saturday evening following Nottingham Forest`s 1-0 victory over Arsenal at the City Ground.

For the game vs Chelsea, City manager Pep Guardiola elected to rest his regulars.

The Champions were accorded a guard of honour by Chelsea FC before kick-off.

A second string XI had no problems against floundering Blues, Argentine forward Julian Alvarez bagging the winner in the first half.

In the end, it was celebration time for the Citizens following a 3rd straight Premier League triumph, one they toiled in hot chase of Arsenal who led for most of the campaign.

City will still entertain two Premier league engagements before two finals in chase of a treble.

Pep Guardiola`s men will face Manchester United FC in the FA Cup final before a UEFA Champions League final game vs Inter Milan in June.
