Manchester United aim to have Alvaro Morata transfer finalised next week

Manchester United will hold further talks with Real Madrid next week with the aim of finalising a deal for Alvaro Morata, according to reports.

United have had a £60 million bid rejected for the Spain international, while Madrid are standing firm over their £70m valuation.

The Sunday Express claims that United want to conclude a deal before pre-season training begins on July 3, meaning that they only have next week to negotiate if they want to stick to that timescale.

Reports elsewhere have already claimed that Morata has agreed to join Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford on a five-year contract.

Last week, reports in Spain claimed that Madrid had told United that they would not lower their asking price for the 24-year-old and would happily keep the striker at the Santiago Bernabeu for another season.

Morata, however, is reportedly keen to leave Madrid in order secure regular football, which he hopes will boost his chances of starting for Spain at the World Cup next year.

Mourinho is said to have recognised this and has called Morata to promise him that he will be an important part of his plans at United.

The Sunday Express also reports that United will continue negotiations with Inter over a deal for Ivan Perisic.

A £35m bid for the Croatia international has been rejected but Inter are under pressure to sell one of their key players before the end of the month due to Financial Fair Play regulations.
