Manchester United stroll past Granada, Arsenal held by Slavia Prague in UEFA Europa League

Villarreal, AS Roma win away from home

Manchester United picked up an easy 2-0 win away from home in their UEFA Europa League quarterfinal first leg against Spanish side, Granada CF. Marcus Rashford scored his 20th goal of the season in the 31st minute when he slotted home after a long ball over the top from Victor Lindelof to give them the lead. Portuguese midfielder, Bruno Fernandes added a second in the 90th minute from the penalty spot to give Manchester United a 2-0 advantage going into next week’s second leg at Old Trafford.

Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw at the Emirates Stadium in their Europa League quarterfinal first leg against Czech side, Slavia Prague. The Gunners failed to create a lot of chances, and Alexandre Lacazette missed when through on goal before Ivorian winger Nicolas Pepe opened the scoring in the 86th minute for them with a dinked effort. The visitors had the final say, as Tomas Holes scored a 93rd minute equaliser for them, giving them a vital away goal ahead of next week’s second leg.

Samuel Chukwueze was in action for 69 minutes as Villarreal picked up a 1-0 away win over Dinamo Zagreb in their quarterfinal first leg thanks to a penalty from striker Gerard Moreno.

AS Roma picked up a 2-1 away win at the Johan Cruyff Arena over Ajax, putting them in a prime position ahead of their second leg match next week. Davy Klaassen opened the scoring for the Dutch side, before goals from Lorenzo Pellegrini and Roger Ibanez turned the tie around.
