Manchester United Stun Roma with Incredible Comeback as Matheus Cunha Shines in 3-2 Victory

Manchester United gave their supporters a night to remember after coming from two goals down to beat AS Roma 3-2 in a dramatic Champions League encounter.
For a while, it looked like United were heading for a disappointing night at Old Trafford. Roma started brightly and caught the home side off guard, with Matías Soulé opening the scoring in the 11th minute before Donyell Malen made it 2-0 from the penalty spot just seven minutes later.
United had plenty of work to do, but they refused to let the game slip away.
Bruno Fernandes gave the hosts a lifeline in the 58th minute, calmly converting a penalty to bring United back into the contest. That goal changed the mood inside Old Trafford, and the home side began to play with the confidence and urgency that had been missing in the first half.
Then came Matheus Cunha.
The Brazilian took centre stage, scoring twice in quick succession in the 83rd and 86th minutes to turn a difficult evening into a memorable victory for Manchester United. Going from 2-0 down to leading 3-2 in the closing stages was exactly the kind of response the home supporters wanted to see.
Cunha’s night ended on a dramatic note, however, as he received a red card in stoppage time.
Despite finishing the game with ten men, United held on to secure a remarkable victory. Fernandes played his part in getting the comeback started, but Cunha’s two goals made him the standout performer on a night Old Trafford will not forget in a hurry.
Roma will be left wondering how they allowed such a comfortable lead to disappear, while United can take plenty of confidence from the character they showed to turn the game around.
