Manchester United trend with ‘useless’ after PL last day no show

There was a time when you searched for the word ‘trophyless’ and Arsenal will come up, looks like the word ‘useless’ has now been associated with Manchester United.

The Premier League giants and one of the richest clubs in the world have been branded ‘useless’ after their no-show in their last Premier League game of the season.

Despite the return of football and club legend, Cristiano Ronaldo, Manchester United have endured a tough season, one which will see them play in the Europa League next season.

Manchester United and West Ham United went searching for the last Europa League spot, the Reds with 58 points play away to Crystal Palace while the Hammers with 56 points play against Brighton.

United were beaten 1-0 by Crystal Palace and luckily for the Red Devils, West Ham suffered a 3-1 loss to Brighton, hence, Man United secured the 6th spot and a place in the Europa League.

Manchester United fans and neutrals for different reasons tagged the team ‘useless’ after suffering the 1-0 loss against Crystal Palace.

United fans were shocked at their team’s poor display while the neutrals who had staked on them to score a goal in their game against Palace had their betting tickets spoilt with the 0-1 outcome, hence, the ‘useless’ tag.

Here are some of their tweets

The defeat at Crystal Palace was their sixth consecutive away loss of the season equaling their 1981 record

Manchester United finished the season with a zero-goal difference having scored and conceded 57 goals, this means they have failed to end a league campaign with a positive goal difference (0 in 2021-22) for the first time since 1989-90 (-1).
