Manchester United ‘were interested in City new signing Nathan Ake’
Manchester United were reportedly interested in signing Nathan Ake before Manchester City completed a deal for the Netherlands international.
City announced on Wednesday that they had signed the central defender from Bournemouth in a £41m deal.
United were linked with the 25-year-old before he officially joined Pep Guardiola’s side, and according to Sky Sports News, the Red Devils were interested in a move.
The report, though, claims that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side were ultimately priced out of a deal as they continue to put the majority of their efforts into attempting to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.
United are currently in a stand-off with BVB as the two clubs appear to have have differing opinions on the England international’s valuation in the summer market.
The 20-time English champions will be looking to book their spot in the semi-finals of the Europa League when they take on Copenhagen in the last eight of the competition on Monday night.
