Manchester United has Withdrew Wayne Rooney from their squad that will head to the United States for the Red Devil’s pre-season tour, the striker is set to join his boyhood club Everton on a free transfer from Manchester United according to reports.

The 31-year-old striker has been withdrawn from Jose Mourinho’s squad as his Old Trafford career is coming to an end with the deal taking him to Goodison Park set to be finalised in the coming days.

The Sun report Rooney will continue to earn £250,000-per-week on Merseyside, having chosen to return to his first club with no MLS offers on the table and no desire to take his family to China.

Rooney spent 13 years with the Old Trafford giants, he has won five Premier League titles, one FA Cup, three League Cups, the Champions League, the Europa League and the Club World Cup, and he also became United’s all-time record goalscorer last season with 253 goals to his name.

Everton has been quite busy this summer after signing Sandro Ramirez from Malaga, Micheal Keane from Burnley and it is believed Everton will follow up the capture of Rooney by signing Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud in a £20m deal.
