Manchester United’s Matteo Darmian calls Jose Mourinho to force through Juventus move

Manchester United’s Matteo Darmian has asked Jose Mourinho to be be allowed to join Italian giants Juventus this summer, reports say.

Juve are searching the market for full-backs as they line-up a replacement for Dani Alves, who appears to be closing in on a move to Manchester City.

Darmian, a former Serie A star with Torino, has emerged as a top target for the club after a frustrating season at Old Trafford.

The 27-year-old only started 15 Premier League games under Mourinho, but excelled towards the end of the campaign to help United win the Europa League last month.

Mourinho is said to have been impressed by the Italy international’s revival, hoping to retain his services ahead of the 2017-18 season.

But The Sun say Darmian has called his manager to try and force through a summer move, with the player desperate got more game time ahead of next year’s World Cup.

Full-back Darmian has made 47 league appearances for the Red Devils since joining the club from Torino in 2015.
