Marc Guehi’s Move to Liverpool Falls Through

Marc Guehi will stay at Crystal Palace this summer after his planned move to Liverpool collapsed, according to Sky Sports.
Liverpool had been pushing to sign the Palace captain before the 9pm deadline, and even submitted a deal sheet to try and complete the transfer. But in the end, the move could not be finalised in time.
What Went Wrong?
Brighton defender Igor Julio had been lined up as Guehi’s replacement at Selhurst Park. He even completed a medical at Crystal Palace earlier today.
However, Igor suddenly changed his mind and decided to join West Ham instead.
That late decision may have forced Palace to pull the plug on Guehi’s move, as they would have been left without a replacement.
What Happens Now?
Palace will now keep hold of Guehi, but there’s a big risk involved — the club could lose him for nothing next summer, as he may leave on a free transfer when his contract ends.
Liverpool will now have to look elsewhere for defensive reinforcements.
