Massimiliano Allegri’s mentor Giovanni Galeone okays Arsenal move

Massimiliano Allegri’s mentor, Giovanni Galeone, has advised the Italian to leave Juventus and says he could create an ‘exciting, fun’ team at Arsenal.

The Juventus boss has been heavily linked with succeeding Arsene Wenger should the Frenchman step down at the Emirates at the end of the season.

Wenger, 66, is out of contract this summer and is yet to put pen to paper on a new two-year deal that has been offered to him.

A portion of Arsenal fans have held protests against Wenger and the board over recent weeks and the Frenchman is under severe pressure to step down.

Allegri, 49, is in his fourth season in Turin but Galeone believes he’s got little left to accomplish with the Old Lady and says he is a perfect fit for the Gunners.

‘I do not know if his cycle with Juventus is over but I told him: “After winning so much, it’s time so say enough!” Galeone told II Messaggero.

‘It’s not easy to leave Juventus but I hope he will go abroad.I think he’d do better in England than in Spain.

‘[Arsenal are] a historic club. It will depend on Wenger’s decision. Massimiliano could build an exciting, fun team keeping with tradition there.

‘Arsenal have players that could adapt to his style. It could be [a good fit].’
