Mbappe becomes PSG All-Time top scorer as champions beat Nantes
Paris Saint-Germain are 11-point clear atop Lique 1 table
Kylian Mbappe stole the show at Parc des Princes after scoring Paris Saint-Germain’s fourth goal in their 4-2 win against Nantes in a league game on Saturday to become the club’s leading scorer.
Lionel Messi put Paris Saint-Germain in front as early as the 12th minute of the game, and an own goal from Jaouen Hadjam in the 17th minute handed the hosts a 2-0 lead.
But two goals within 7 minutes from Ludovic Blas, and Ignatius Kpene Ganago ensured Nantes ended the first-half level on goals with Paris Saint-Germain.
Danilo Pereira gave Paris Saint-Germain the lead 15 minutes after the start of the second half before Kylian Mbappe scored the fourth late in the game.
Kylian Mbappe who knew he needed just one goal to become Paris Saint-Germain’s all-time top scorer pushed for the goal until he got it late in the game.
He now has 201 goals in 247 games for Paris Saint-Germain beating Edinson Cavani’s record of 200 goals in 301 total appearances.
Kylian Mbappe is now on the chase for two more records; becoming Paris Saint-Germain’s all-time top scorer in Ligue 1, and Lique 1 all-time top scorer.
To achieve these feats, he needs three more goals to beat Edinson Cavani’s record of 138 goals. He also needs 164 goals to beat Delio Onnis Ligue’s 1 record of 299 goals.
Former Monaco, Reims, Tours, and Toulon forward Delio Onnis holds the record with 299.
