Men’s round up: Dominant Kaduna teach Abia State a great lesson, Oyo throw FCT out

Kaduna State men Hockey team thought Abia State a great lesson on Sunday as they put eight unreplied goals past opponents from the East.

Apart from Nathaniel Usman who scored two goals there were different goal scorers for the remaining six goals.

Abia State who held Plateau State to a goalless draw in their first game prevented Kaduna from scoring in the first quarter but their resistance could only last for 15 minute.

Nathaniel Usman opened the scoring in the 18th minute, James Samaila made it two in the 24th minute, Daniel Victor scored in 34th minute to make it three for Kaduna.

Kaduna’s first three goals were from a well worked out penalty corners.

Victor Kish, Ibrahim Elkana and Kelvin Linus scored in the 37th, 42nd and 51st minutes to increase Kaduna’s tally to six.

Nathaniel Usman completed his brace in the 56th minute and John Peter converted a penalty stroke in the 59th minute to complete the 8-0 rout.

In the other game in the men’s category, braces from Sunday Emmanuel and Joshua Faluyi helped Oyo State (men) team secure a comfortable 4-0 victory against FCT on Sunday.

Sunday Emmanuel opened the scoring in the 13th minute. Joshua Faluyi made it two in 14th minute.

Joshua Faluyi completed his brace in the 21st minute. Sunday Emmanuel completed his brace in the 49th minute to complete the rout.

However comfortable the game was for Oyo State the team’s technical crew should be concerned about the players failure to convert any of their five penalty corners.
