Merciless Manchester City thrash Salford City 8-0
Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City delivered a goal fest in their FA Cup third-round match against League Two side Salford City.
James McAtee shone with an outstanding hat-trick as City cruised to an 8-0 victory, booking their place in the fourth round of the competition.
This result extended City’s winning streak to three matches, their longest run of victories since early October.
The game was effectively decided within the first 20 minutes, as City’s attacking brilliance overwhelmed the lower-league team.
Jeremy Doku opened the scoring, followed by goals from Divin Mubama, Nico O’Reilly, and Jack Grealish to make it 4-0 by halftime.
City maintained their dominance in the second half, with McAtee completing his hat-trick and Doku adding his second of the match.
It was a commanding performance that highlighted City’s attacking strength and squad depth in a one-sided contest.
