MFM 3-1 El-Kanemi: Fidelis Ilechukwu’s boys climb to the NPFL summit

MFM FC were too good for El-Kanemi as they beat the Maiduguri based side at the Agege Township Stadium on Sunday with ease, to go to top of the NPFL table after 6 games in the top flight football.

The newly promoted team took the lead on the 26th minutes thanks to Stephen Odey,  but 6 minutes after his goal Odey was taken off injured and replaced by Henry Abara.

Julius Emiloju increased MFM FC’s lead on 47th minutes after converting a beautiful assist from Ifeanyi Ifeanyi. MFM FC would have increased their lead instead, a sloppy play from the Lagos based team allowed Japhet Daniel to pull one back for El-Kanemi on the 65th minutes.

Emmanuel Onuwa restored MFM FC’s 2-goal cushion on the 75′. Fidelis Ilechukwu’s boys held on to their 2-goal lead to secure the maximum points at home and go top of the log with 13 points from 6 games.
