Michelle Alozie scores to rescue point for Houston Dash

Nigeria Super Falcons star Michelle Alozie scored a goal to rescue a point for Houston Dash in their 1-1 draw against Kansas City Current, in the National Women’s soccer League (NWSL) on Saturday August 25.

Visiting Kansas City Current took the lead six minutes into the second half before Alozie produced a brilliant finish to restore parity.

A fan favourite at the recently concluded 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Michelle Alozie drew Houston Dash level on 67 minutes.

The 26-year-old Nigerian right back went past a Kansas City Current player to reach the ball, Alozie raced towards goal before sending a volley with the outside of her foot into the net to force a 1-1 draw on Saturday night.

Houston Dash are currently placed ninth on the NWSL standings.

Alozie was one of Nigeria’s standout player at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, featuring in all games as Nigeria reached the Last-16 at the first ever 32-team FIFA Women’s World Cup.
