Middlesbrough 2 QPR 0: John Obi Mikel puts on a show again

Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi was in his usual relaxed, calm, composed, and super confidence self as he helped Middlesbrough to a 2-0 win against QPR at Riverside on Saturday.

After helping the Tony Pulis side to an away 1-0 win against Blackburn Rovers, “the midfield man” as he is fondly described by Boro fans in a song put on another show in their championship game on Saturday.

It was done and dusted within the first 32nd minutes as Mikel led Middlesbrough ran riot against Queens Park Rangers in front of their fans.

Jonathan Howson put Middlesbrough in front in the second minute of the game before Ashley Fletcher scored the second goal in the 32nd minute to wrap up the win.

John Mikel Obi’s calmness, reading of the game and composure allowed the midfielders to freedom to attack and pile pressure on QPR just as in the other games.

The former Chelsea midfielder hardly misplaced a pass against QPR and was again rock solid for the championship.

The win has further increased Middlesbrough chances of making it to the Premier League as they now occupy the 5th position with 57 points from 33 games.

Mikel Obi was on from the blast of the whistle until the end of the game.
