Mikaela Shiffrin makes history with 15th World Championship medal

Mikaela Shiffrin has written her name in history books once again, equaling the all-time record for the most World Championship medals in alpine skiing. The American star secured her 15th career medal after winning gold in the women’s team combined event alongside Breezy Johnson at the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships.

With this victory, Shiffrin ties Norwegian legend Kjetil André Aamodt for the most World Championship medals in history. This also marks her eighth gold medal, further cementing her status as one of the greatest skiers of all time.

Speaking after her record-tying performance, Shiffrin said, “It’s an incredible honor to reach this milestone. I’ve been lucky to have an amazing team and support system behind me.”

Her teammate Breezy Johnson also praised the achievement: “Competing with Mikaela and winning together is a dream come true. We worked hard for this, and it’s amazing to see the results.”

Shiffrin’s ability to perform at the highest level for over a decade has made her one of the most dominant athletes in winter sports. As fans and fellow athletes celebrate her latest accomplishment, the question now is: how much further can she push the limits of greatness?
