Mikel Obi: Badiashile and Disasi not good enough for Chelsea
Former Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi has expressed his opinion that Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile are not the type of players suited for Chelsea.
Despite facing challenges earlier in the season, Chelsea managed to finish 6th in the Premier League table.
During a podcast discussion, Mikel stated that both players lack the qualities required to play for Chelsea.
He further emphasised the need for the team management to seek out better center-back options ahead of the upcoming season.
“I don’t believe Benoit Badiashile is the right fit for Chelsea. Alex Disasi… no! We require two proven, top center-backs who can come in and provide stability to the back four. We need two world-class center-backs,” he remarked.
Obi is a legend at Chelsea where spent 11 years and won multiple titles, including two Premier League titles, four FA Cups, and the 2011–12 Champions League. After leaving Chelsea, he had brief stints at Tianjin TEDA, Middlesbrough, Trabzonspor and Stoke City.
