Mikel Obi gets his song, new name as Boro fans continue to praise their new hero
Eight days ago, John Mikel Obi was described by every good word in the book, so much that Middlesbrough fans ran out of superlatives for the former Chelsea man.
His display against the Championship leaders, Leeds United, at the Riverside in Middlesbrough 1-1 draw was so perfect that fans begged that the Super Eagles midfielder never leave them.

It appears his display against Leeds United was just a glimpse of what is to come as Mikel Obi wowed the Smuggies with yet another masterclass in Middlesbrough’s away 1-0 win against Blackburn Rovers on Sunday.

Mikel Obi was practically involved in every attacking move Middlesbrough made at Ewood Park and was involved defensively too. He dictated the pace and tempo of the game allowing his teammates to do their jobs on the field with ease.
With Mikel Obi in Middlesbrough’s squad, their chances of making it to the Premier League from the Championship are very high and the fans realize these, hence their love for the former Lyn Oslo man.
So much that he is now being described as ‘A Rolls-Royce of a midfielder’. Boro fans chant his name before, during and after each game in appreciation for his contribution to their team’s success.
