Mirra Andreeva joins Venus Williams in Australian Open record
With her win over Elena-Gabriela Ruse, Mirra Andreeva has reached the Round of 16 or better in each of her first three Australian Open main draw appearances.
She is the first woman to do that since Venus Williams.

Mirra Andreeva: 2024, 2025, 2026
During her on-court interview, Jelena Dokic mentioned Conchita Martínez, who now coaches Andreeva.
“You know that Conchita and I played doubles together?” Dokic said. “You weren’t even born yet.”
Andreeva laughed and replied, “It was like 20 years ago, right?”
When Dokic said it was actually 25 years ago, Andreeva joked back:
“Well, I would never say that. I’d say it was like five years ago. I didn’t know that — I hope she was okay.”
Dokic then added that she and Martínez reached the Roland Garros doubles final together.
