Moffi happy after brace in OGC Nice win over Lens
Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi has shared his delight following Nice’s 3-1 triumph against Lens in the French Ligue 1 on Saturday.
Nice had a promising start to the season, appearing as potential contenders to challenge PSG for the Ligue 1 title. With traditional powerhouses Lyon and Marseille facing difficulties, Les Aiglons raised hopes with their early performances.
However, their form dipped in mid-February, enduring a six-game winless streak with five losses and one draw.
Nonetheless, Nice bounced back to winning form at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis against Lens on Saturday. Moffi netted goals in both halves, while Khephren added another, ensuring Elye Wahi’s goal for Lens was merely a consolation. The victory propelled Nice to fourth place in the standings, pending the outcome of Lille’s match against Brest on Sunday.
Reflecting on the match, Moffi expressed satisfaction with the crucial win, considering it essential following their recent struggles.
“It was a very important win for us. As a team, we really needed the victory. Now, we just need to clear our heads and come back even stronger and more positive,” remarked Moffi.
Moffi’s brace took his tally to eight goals for the season, and with eight games remaining, he aims to finish the campaign on a high note.
