Moffi opens Ligue 1 account with brace against Clermont
Bonke features for Lorient in comfortable win
Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi scored twice as FC Lorient defeated Clermont Foot 2-1 in their Ligue 1 encounter. The 23-year-old played a key role as his side claimed an important win in the game.
Having blanked in each of the first two games of the season, the Super Eagles star opened his account for the season from the penalty spot to give his side the lead in the 24th minute. Moffi showed his quality in front of goal to double his side’s lead with four minutes left in the first half. The striker received the ball inside his own half before running unchallenged into the opposition half and rounding the hapless goalkeeper to score.
Clermont Foot pulled one back through midfielder Muhammed Cham Saracevic in the 62nd minute to set up a tense finale. Terem Moffi was withdrawn in the 73rd minute and replaced by Ibrahima Kone.
Super Eagles midfielder Innocent Bonke was a late substitute for Lorient, replacing Enzo Le Fee in the 82nd minute. FC Lorient have maintained an unbeaten start to the season, picking up seven points from their opening three matches.
