Moffi shakes off injury concern to fire Nice to victory over Lens

Terem Moffi shook off injury concern to fire OGC Nice to a 2-0 French Ligue 1 win over Lens on Wednesday, December 20, 2023.

The Super Eagle made a significant impact coming off the bench, scoring twice for OGC Nice to secure a victory and solidify their second-place position in the Ligue 1 standings.

Despite speculations about his potential absence from the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) due to injury, Moffi showcased his goal-scoring prowess.

Moffi, who missed Nice’s previous match against Le Havre, entered the game in the 73rd minute, replacing Gaetan Laborde.

The Nigerian forward wasted no time, converting a penalty in the 77th minute to give Les Aiglons the lead. Moffi continued his scoring spree, adding a second goal just three minutes later in the 78th minute.

The 22-year-old striker has been in excellent form, and his brace takes his goal tally to six in 16 league appearances for Nice this season.

The goals contributed to OGC Nice maintaining their strong position in the Ligue 1 table.

Nice, managed by Francesco Farioli, will resume their league campaign in January with a match against Auxerre. As things stand, Nice occupies the second position in the Ligue 1 standings with 35 points from 17 games, highlighting their impressive performance in the ongoing season.
