Combative Midfielder Morice Chukwu has announced his decision to quit Rivers United FC and continue his career elsewhere.
The Midfielder made the announcement on Monday June 26 via his social media handle, plus a message for fans of the 2022/2022 Nigeria Premier League winners.
Morice Chukwu wrote “In the last couple of weeks, I have been engaged in a very emotional conversation with Management and the Board of Directors concerning my future.
” After several consultations, it was resolved that my desire to continue my career path elsewhere after Two and a half years of dedicated service to Rivers United be respected by all involved.
” I thank Dr. Okechukwu Kpalukwu, the Management, Technical Team, the players, and the fans for the support throughout my years with the team.
” I will forever cherish my time with the family. Long Live The Pride of Rivers!!! ”
The midfielder was in action for Rivers United FC and even scored the winning goal in the Naija Super 8 playoffs win over Bendel Insurance FC on Sunday June 25.
An ever-present member of Stanley Eguma tutored Rivers United FC, Morice Chukwu’s decision to quit the club will come as a surprise.
In a related development, SportsRation understands there are no less than four clubs within and outside Nigeria interested in signing the former former GO Round FC and Akwa United FC defensive midfielder.
In the recently concluded season, Morice Chukwu helped Rivers United FC to a 3rd place finish in the Nigeria Premier League behind Remo Stars and Champions Enyimba International FC on goal difference.
