Nana Bonsu the hero as 10-man Enugu Rangers survive Salitas FC to stay alive in CAF Confederation Cup

Ghanaian goalkeeper Nana Bonsu was the hero as 10-man Rangers played a 1-1 draw against Salitas FC in their CAF Confederation Cup clash in Ouagadougou to keep their hopes of making it alive.

Rangers took the lead in the 35th minute through Ifeanyi George few minutes after they were reduced to 10 men following the sending off of defender Samiu Liadi for a second booking.

Salitas drew level in the second half and had several chances to win the game but Rangers Ghanaian goalkeeper Nana Bonsu was at the top of his game denying the Burkinabes.

While Salitas FC searched for the winning goal they left their defense exposed and with just one more chance Rangers could have won the match but Godwin Aguda fluffed the chance with just they lying goalie to beat.

With five points from five games, Enugu Rangers who has a game next Sunday against CS Sfaxien could join the Tunisian giants who have booked their place in the knock stages.

CS Sfaxien with 9 points top the group, ES Tunis with 7 points are second on the log, Rangers with 5 points occupy the third spot while Salitas with 4 points remain at bottom of the log.

Next Sunday, Rangers will host CS Sfaxien in Enugu while Etoile du Sahel will host Salitas FC in Tunisia.
