Nasarawa 5 El-Kanemi 1: Sunusi Ibrahim bags brace as Miners win big in Northern derby
Two early goals from Sunusi Ibrahim gave Nasarawa United the perfect start as they rolled El-Kanemi Warriors over in a Nigeria Professional Football League played on Sunday.
Just some seconds into the game, Sunusi Ibrahim put the home team ahead with fine finish. The winger blasted the ball past goalkeeper Modou Jobe for the Miners first goal.
Sunusi completed his brace in the 30th minute of the game from a simple tap in after Ikenna Okafor had done a good job creating the goal.
Anas Yusuf made it three for Nasarawa United in the 32nd minute. Ndala Isah increased the miners’ tally to four from a perfect free-kick.
Sulley Mohammed reduced the the visitors to three when he tapped home from Chinedu Ohanachom’s cross in the 65th minute.
Emmanuel Ogbole tapped home a fine pass from Anas Yusuf to complete Nasarawa United’s 5-1 rout of El-Kanemi Warriors.
The win takes Nasarawa United to 4th position with 25 points while El-Kanemi with 28 points remain second in Group B.
