Nasarawa Amazons Fight Back to Beat Naija Ratels in NWFL Super Six Opener

Nasarawa Amazons came from behind to defeat Naija Ratels 2-1 in the opening match of the 2025 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Super Six playoffs.

The match, held at the Ikenne Sports Complex, saw Naija Ratels take an early lead in the 13th minute through Tsebee Rita.

But the Amazons responded strongly, with star forward Janet Akekoromowei scoring her 10th goal of the season to make it 1-1.

Josephine Mathias then headed home the winning goal from a corner in the 55th minute to complete the comeback.

Nasarawa Amazons will face Bayelsa Queens in their next match on Monday, 12th May 2025, as they aim to continue their winning form.
