NBA Playoffs Recap: Anthony Edwards shines as Timberwolves defeat Mavericks to avoid sweep

In a thrilling Game 4 of the NBA Playoffs, Anthony Edwards delivered an outstanding performance to help the Minnesota Timberwolves defeat the Dallas Mavericks 105-100, avoiding a sweep.

The Timberwolves were propelled by Karl-Anthony Towns’ impressive long-range shooting and Edwards’ game-high 29 points. Towns added 25 points on 9-of-13 shooting, including several crucial three-pointers, while Edwards contributed with 10 rebounds and 9 assists.

Despite the Mavericks’ Luka Doncic recording a triple-double with 28 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists, Minnesota managed to secure a vital victory. The Timberwolves took an early 12-point lead, but the teams battled evenly throughout the second half.

A key moment came with five minutes remaining when Towns’ three-pointer gave Minnesota a 92-90 edge. They never trailed again, thanks to Towns’ timely shooting and Edwards’ all-around play.

This win forces a Game 5, scheduled for Thursday night in Minnesota. The Timberwolves aim to become the first team in NBA history to come back from a 3-0 deficit in a playoff series.

After receiving criticism for his shooting performance in the first three games, Towns showed no signs of struggle on Tuesday. Edwards also shone brightly, showcasing his versatility and determination.

The Timberwolves’ hopes of reaching the NBA Finals remain alive. While they face a daunting task, the victory against the Mavericks marks their first step in attempting to make playoff history.
