NBA Recap: Lakers, 76ers lose second straight game

Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Clippers win season openers

The Los Angeles Lakers continued with their struggles at the start of the 2022-23 season as they lost to the Los Angeles Clippers 103-97 at the Crypto.com Arena. The Lakers had previously lost to champions Golden State Warriors in their season opener before losing to the Clippers in LA.

Paul George led the scoring for the Clippers with 15 points and ten rebounds, and John Wall scored 15 points. Kawhi Leonard made his return to action for the first time in over a year, scoring 14 points off the bench for the Clippers. Lonnie Walker led all scorers in the match with 26 points and Anthony Davis scored 25 points. LeBron James contributed 20 points and 10 rebounds.

The Philadelphia 76ers lost for the second successive game as the Milwaukee Bucks picked up a 90-88 win. The Sixers had previously lost their season opener to the Boston Celtics.

Giannis Antetokounmpo led the scoring for the Bucks with 21 points and 13 rebounds in the game and Brook Lopez scored 17 points. Bobby Portis contributed 11 points and ten rebounds, and Jordan Nwora scored six points. James Harden scored 31 points for the Sixers as Joel Embiid recorded 15 points and 12 rebounds.
