Orlando Magic still winless after four games
Philadelphia 76ers claimed their first win of the NBA season after overcoming the Indiana Pacers 120-106 in Philadelphia. James Harden led the scoring for the 76ers with 29 points and 11 assists, and Joel Embiid scored 26 points for them. Tyrese Haliburton led the scoring for the Pacers with 19 points.
Toronto Raptors defeated the Miami Heat 98-90 to pick up their second win of the ongoing NBA season. Fred VanVleet led the scoring for the Raptors with 24 points and D’Tigers star Precious Achiuwa contributed 10 points and 22 rebounds. Jimmy Butler scored 26 points for the Heat.
The New York Knicks condemned the Orlando Magic to a fourth successive defeat in the NBA by claiming a 115-102 win in their clash. Julius Randle led the scoring with 25 points and 12 rebounds, and Jalen Brunson scored 21 points. Paolo Banchero led the scoring for the Magic with 21 points.
The Houston Rockets picked up their first win of the season with a 114-108 defeat of the Utah Jazz. It was the Jazz’s first defeat of the season. Kevin Porter Jr led the scoring with 26 points and ten rebounds, and Jalen Green scored 25 points. Jordan Clarkson scored 17 points for the Jazz as they lost.
Chicago Bulls claimed a 120-102 win over the Boston Celtics to hand the Eastern Conference champions a first loss of the season. DeMar DeRozan led the scoring with 25 points and Nikola Vucevic scored 18 points and 23 rebounds for the Bulls. Jayson Tatum scored 26 points for the Celtics.
Memphis Grizzlies claimed a hard-fought 134-124 win over the Brooklyn Nets in their NBA clash. Ja Morant and Desmond Bane contributed 38 points apiece for the Grizzlies, and Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving contributed 37 points each for the Nets.
San Antonio Spurs defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 115-105 in the NBA. Devin Vassell led the scoring for the Spurs with 23 points and Keldon Johnson scored 18 points. Karl-Anthony Towns scored 27 points and 11 rebounds for the Timberwolves.
Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Denver Nuggets 135-110 in their NBA encounter. Damian Lillard led the scoring with 31 points and Anfernee Simons scored 29 points. Aaron Gordon scored 26 points for the Nuggets.
