NBA Round Up: Klay stars as Warriors crush Kings, LeBron leads Cavs and Spurs rout Magic

The Golden State Warriors and the San Antonio Spurs enjoyed big wins as LeBron James inspired NBA champions the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Golden State responded from their loss on Monday with a 109-86 victory over the Sacramento Kings.

The Spurs put the Orlando Magic to the sword, easing to a 107-79 win on Wednesday.

James scored 31 points in Cleveland’s 113-104 victory at home to the Indiana Pacers.

 

THOMPSON GETS WARRIORS BACK ON TRACK

The Warriors went down to the Denver Nuggets last time out but there was no repeat of that performance on Wednesday.

Klay Thompson played a key role in avoiding back-to-back defeats courtesy of his 35 points.

Kevin Durant posted 21 points.

 

ALDRIDGE, LEONARD CRUSH MAGIC

LaMarcus Aldridge and Kawhi Leonard benefited against a short-handed Magic team in Orlando.

Aldridge put up a game-high 23 points and Leonard scored 22 points in the win over the Magic, who were without Serge Ibaka after he was traded to the Toronto Raptors.

 

CAVS STAY HOT

Heading into the All-Star break, the Cavaliers are in form.

A big performance from James and Kyrie Irving’s 26 points guided Eastern Conference leaders the Cavs to their seventh win in eight games.

Kyle Korver made six three-pointers for the hosts as the Pacers crashed to a fifth consecutive defeat.

 

WESTBROOK SCORES TRIPLE-DOUBLE

The Oklahoma City Thunder benefited from another Russell Westbrook triple-double as they triumphed 116-105 against the New York Knicks.

All-Star Westbrook had 38 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists for his 27th triple-double of the season and 64th of his career.

BOUCHARD ENJOYS NETS GAME WITH TWITTER DATE

Tennis star Eugenie Bouchard stayed true to her word after losing a Super Bowl bet on Twitter, meeting up with 20-year-old university student John Goehrke on Wednesday.

The pair were in attendance at Barclays Center as the Brooklyn Nets lost 129-125 to the Milwaukee Bucks.

 

HEAT, RAPTORS WIN

The Miami Heat were 117-109 winners over the Houston Rockets, the Toronto Raptors topped the Charlotte Hornets 90-85 and the Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Atlanta Hawks 99-84.

Elsewhere, the Boston Celtics beat the Philadelphia 76ers 116-108, Andrew Wiggins helped the Minnesota Timberwolves past the Denver Nuggets 112-99, the Dallas Mavericks lost to the Detroit Pistons 98-91, the New Orleans Pelicans saw off the Memphis Grizzlies 95-91, the Phoenix Suns accounted for the Los Angeles Lakers 137-101 and the Utah Jazz were too good for the Portland Trail Blazers 111-88.

 

CELTICS AT BULLS

There are just two games scheduled on Thursday, with the Washington Wizards facing the Pacers and the Celtics meeting the Chicago Bulls.
