NBA Round Up: Westbrook triple-double sinks James’ Cavs, Harden leads Rockets

Russell Westbrook posted his 26th triple-double of the season as the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 118-109.

It was a standard outing for Russell Westbrook as the Oklahoma City Thunder upstaged reigning NBA champions the Cleveland Cavaliers, while James Harden’s double-double lifted the Houston Rockets.

Westbrook posted his 26th triple-double of the season as the Thunder defeated the Cavaliers 118-109 on Thursday.

Harden had 30 points and 11 rebounds to help the Rockets past the Charlotte Hornets 107-95.

There were also wins for the Philadelphia 76ers, the Dallas Mavericks and the Boston Celtics.

 

WESTBROOK CLOSING IN ON ROBERTSON?

With his 29 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists, Westbrook now has the third most triple-doubles in one season in NBA history.

Oscar Robertson has the most with 41.

Westbrook was supported by Victor Oladipo (23 points) and Steven Adams (20 points, 13 rebounds).

Kyrie Irving scored 28 points for the Cavaliers, who had their four-game winning streak snapped.

 

HARDEN LEADS THE WAY AGAIN

The All-Star guard put up another double-double – his 44th – as the Rockets impressed offensively.

Houston forced 22 turnovers, which led to 27 points in the win in Charlotte.

 

WESTBROOK OUTDUELS IRVING

76ERS WIN LATE, MAVS PREVAIL IN OT

T.J. McConnell hit a go-ahead jumper with 5.8 seconds remaining as the 76ers edged the Orlando Magic 112-111.

The Mavericks were 112-105 winners against the Utah Jazz in overtime, while the Celtics defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 120-111.

The Golden State Warriors headline Friday’s schedule as they head to the Memphis Grizzlies. The San Antonio Spurs are at the Detroit Pistons.
