NBA Wrap-Up: Kyrie Irving drops career-high, franchise record 60 points as Nets humble Magic

Grizzlies, Suns, Heat all win their games

Kyrie Irving was at the top of his game as he led the Brooklyn Nets to a comprehensive 150-108 win in their NBA clash on Tuesday, scoring 60 points in the game.

Kyrie Irving came up with his 60 points just one day after Karl-Anthony Towns achieved the feat for the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Nets star set a new franchise record, with his 60 points the best ever in the history of the franchise.

Kyrie Irving could have got more points, but he chose to check out of the game with eight minutes left in the fourth quarter. He scored 41 of his 60 points in the first half of the game before completing his 60-piece in the second half.

Kyrie Irving has not been far from controversy this year owing to his decision to not take the COVID-19 vaccine. This has cost him the opportunity of playing in the Brooklyn Nets’ home games in New York, meaning he can only play when they travel away from home.

The Memphis Grizzlies did not feel the absence of Ja Morant as they won 135-102 against the Indiana Pacers to retain second place in the Western Conference. Desmond Bane scored 21 points for the Grizzlies, and Jaren Jackson Jr recorded 19 points.

Miami Heat defeated the Detroit Pistons 105-98 in the NBA on Tuesday. Tyler Herro scored 29 points, as Bam Adebayo and Max Strus recorded 16 points each.

Phoenix Suns continued with their impressive form as they picked up another win, this time against the New Orleans Pelicans. The Western Conference leaders won 131-115 with Devin Booker recording 27 points, Miles Bridges 20 points and JaVale McGee with 19 points.
