Ndidi takes a step in following Mikel’s successful club career

It appears Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is following the path of greatness John Mikel Obi followed.

The former Genk midfielder has not hidden his fondness for the former Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi and with his recent feat, he might be on the path of having same if not a better career.

The 20-year-old midfielder has been named the Leicester City Young Player of the Year 2017 despite only joining the Foxes in January from Genk.

By winning the award Wilfred Ndidi has ticked one in many of the feats accomplished by his compatriot while playing for Chelsea.

John Mikel Obi who was Chelsea’s Young Player of Year in 2007 and 2008 won the 2 Premier League titles, 4 FA Cups, 2 League Cups, 1 UEFA Champions League and Europa League.

Ndidi beat Ben Chiwell and Demarai Gray to the award, after scoring two English Premier League goals in 15 appearances.
